Explore Fiber is a collaborative website showcasing and exploring fiber as a fine art material.

Each year, the Art of Education holds an Art Ed Blog of the Year Contest to honor the best Art Ed blogs on the web. The Art of Education is a website that is devoted to helping art teachers find relevant professional development.
In addition to nominating blogs that cater to elementary teachers and secondary teachers, our readers are also encouraged to nominate blogs in a “Wild Card” category. These are blogs that are inspiring to art teachers, but may not be written by them.
This year, Explore Fiber was chosen to be a finalist in the Wild Card Category.
This means your blog is inspiring art teachers and their students all over the world!
I would love if you would take a minute to read through how the contest works. There are some prizes that go with the contest that you may be interested in. Thank you!
Here is a bit more about how the contest works.
Nominations and Voting
The process started with hundreds of nominations pouring in last week. The Art of Ed review committee then had the difficult task of narrowing down the nominees to just 9 finalists in each of the following categories: Elementary, Secondary, Rising Star, and Wild Card.
This morning, we opened up the final voting process to the AOE community. Voting will be open from now through 9pm CST on January 22nd. Winners will be announced on The Art of Ed on Sunday, January 24th.
Prizes
First place winners in each category will receive a badge to display on their blog, an opportunity to speak at a future AOE Online Conference (a paid gig), a $500 AOE gift card to put toward AOE Classes, and a $50 gift card to spend at Blick Art Materials.
Second place winners in each category will receive a badge to display on their blog, free access to the next AOE Online Conference, and a $35 gift card to spend at Blick Art Materials.
Third place winners in each category will receive a badge to display on their blog and a $25 gift card to spend at Blick Art Materials.
The remaining bloggers in each category will receive finalist badges to display on their blogs.
(You can also see the list of prizes here.)
Of course, all winners and finalists will also receive a shout out to our entire readership and lots of links and love sent via AOE.
Note: Voters may only cast their votes one time, although they may vote for multiple blogs in each category at that time. Repetitive votes from the same IP address will not be counted. Thank you!
Again, congratulations on being selected as a finalist for the 2015 Art Ed Blog of the Year Contest. We are thrilled to be able to share your amazing work with our readers. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
