Explore Fiber is a collaborative website showcasing and exploring fiber as a fine art material.
A visit to New York City should include a stop by this wonderful shop, Purl Soho! It’s worth a cab ride down to Lower Manhattan: 459 Broome Street, New York, New York 10013. You can also subscribe to their YouTube channel for tutorials and tips.
Purl Soho is a beloved resource for needlecrafters of every ilk, from knitters and crocheters to quilters and embroiderers. Since 2002, we have been sharing our passion for beauty and exceptional design, for natural fibers and crafting traditions.
We are especially proud of our gorgeous collection of exclusive Purl Soho yarns and fabrics, as well as our online content, the Purl Bee. Located here under the “Create” menu, we update the Purl Bee two or three times a week with (mostly) free patterns developed by our own team of talented designers. Crafters from all corners of the world visit the Bee for creative nourishment and inspiration!
Walking into the story, Sydney was busy converting skeins of yarn for the customer into a ball that is easier to work from. The shop was bustling with customers!
Inspiration was everywhere! I found my own pile of fiber treasure to use for a project that is coming to fruition.
There are lots of patterns that they have developed for knitting, embroidery, crochet, needlepoint, sewing and craft.
I always feel like I have arrived home, when I enter a fiber store! I immediately relax and start to breathe, but the breath quickens as I feel my excitement growing!
If you can’t get to NYC, then do visit their website to discovery lots of exciting things to create with. There it is – your Fiber Fix for Friday!
