Explore Fiber is a collaborative website showcasing and exploring fiber as a fine art material.
Patternprints Journal published an interesting article about Kun Kang, a Korean artist that now lives and works in Paris. Kang uses needle and thread to build three dimensional forms. Be sure to check out this article link to see close up photos of his work. He uses a variety of materials for his sculptures, but the needles and thread contribute a tension that is interesting and sometimes unsettling. There is an energy to his work that appears to be primitive, but also touches a nerve that is somewhat difficult to identify. How do you respond to his work?
