Amie Adelman, Associate Professor of Fibers in the College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas, received an MFA in Fibers from the University of Kansas and a BFA in Fibers from Arizona State University. UNT awarded Adelman with travel grants to conduct textile research in Ghana, Uganda, South Africa, Guatemala, Norway, Scotland, and England. Adelman’s artwork is published in numerous books including Dyeing and Screen-Printing on Textiles by Joanna Kinnersly-Taylor and Fiberarts Design Book Six edited by Nancy Orban and in a variety of journals such as American Craft, Surface Design Journal, and Fiberarts. Adelman also exhibits artwork nationally and internationally and has participated in a residency at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in 1998-99. She will be an artist-in-resident at Gullkistan Residency for Creative People in Iceland in 2014.
